Ceragon Networks

Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: CRNT) is a leading provider of high capacity wireless backhaul solutions. Around the world, cellular and fixed wireless operators and private organizations are successfully using Ceragon’s innovative solutions to meet the escalating demand for transmission capacity.

Ceragon’s focus on backhaul is a significant advantage as it serves all types of access technologies, and any type of network. The main driver of Ceragon’s business is its modular FibeAir® product family, a cutting-edge, high-capacity solution for wireless backhaul transport of broadband services over IP and SONET/SDH networks.

Markets:
Ceragon’s solutions present compelling advantages, in terms of cost, scalability, future-proofness, and functionality, in three key markets where capacity is a pressing issue:

  • For the cellular market, Ceragon offers flexible, high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions that enable operators to expand their networks. Ceragon’s SONET/SDH solution runs from 155 to 622 Mbps, enabling a unique “pay as you grow” offering that makes it ideal for next generation networks such as 3G EVDO and HSDPA and for supporting the tremendous growth in the numbers of subscribers in developing regions. In the US, demand for Ceragon’s solutions is being driven by the emergence of new wholesale carriers that are introducing a viable cost effective alternative to leased lines.
  • In the fixed networks market, where capacity demands are primarily being driven by IP and converged services, Ceragon provides high-capacity broadband wireless solutions for advanced networks. As a leader in IP backhaul, Ceragon offers ILECs an efficient means for providing much-demanded triple play services and enables fixed wireless operators to meet the need for advanced IP backhaul for their access networks, such as WiMAX and WiFi.
  • For the private networks market, primarily in developed countries, Ceragon enables rapid deployment of broadband wireless access systems that meet the high capacity needs of advanced data networks. Ceragon solutions are ideal for public safety, disaster recovery, and business continuity in a wide range of public and enterprise environments, including government, military, utilities, education, health, finance and more.

Product Overview:
Ceragon’s FibeAir product family of broadband wireless systems is a response to the ever growing demands for cost effective higher capacity connectivity and more efficient management of increasingly complex networks. FibeAir 1500P combines spectral efficiency, hardware efficiency, modularity, flexibility, and upgradeability in a single, compact, system. It represents a rapid and cost effective solution for carriers in both the cellular and fixed operators market, for private networks and enterprises.

FibeAir 1500P supports multiple capacities, frequencies, modulation schemes and configurations for a broad range of network requirements, using the same flexible hardware and state-of-the-art technology.

An ultra high capacity system, FibeAir 1500P can deliver up to 622 Mbps with software configurable modulation schemes (QPSK 16, 32, 64, 128, and 256 QAM) and versatile bandwidths (10, 28, 30, 40, 50, and 56 MHz). In addition, the same system can deliver data at capacities of 45 Mbps to 800 Mbps optimizing the solution for every network topology and configuration. FibeAir 1500P operates in the entire frequency range of 6-38 GHz.

This innovative family of products presents an easy method of “on the fly” wireless network upgrades in accordance with network expansion requirements. These optimized as-you-grow capacity capabilities of the FibeAir family leverage the operators’ and service providers’ capital and operating expenses.

Upgrading from a lower to a higher capacity is simple with the same FibeAir 1500P 1U IDU, which can host two hot-swappable radio carriers. The IDU supports 1+0, 2+0, 1+1 and 2+2 Hot Standby with space and/or frequency diversity.

With FibeAir 1500P operating in co-channel dual polarization (CCDP) mode, using the cross polarization interference canceller (XPIC) algorithm, two STM-1 signals can be transmitted over a single 28 MHz channel, using vertical and horizontal polarization. This enables double capacity in the same spectrum bandwidth.

FibeAir can seamlessly integrate into any SDH/SONET, IP and ATM network, while supporting a wide variety of Ethernet and TDM interfaces, including nxE1/DS1, nxE3/DS3, nxSTM-1/OC-3, STM-4/OC-12, nxFast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet. This enables network designers to meet growing market needs, including integration of current and next generation technologies, using the same radio equipment.

A Next Generation Long-Haul Wireless Solution
FibeAir 1500HP, the latest addition to the family is an ideal wireless networking solution for end-to-end long distance connectivity allowing the deployment of voice and data services for fixed and mobile backhaul networks. With key technological advancements, the FibeAir 1500HP is the first split-mount radio to be truly optimized for long-haul applications. Ceragon’s unique embedded space diversity with dual receiver architecture, extremely high transmit power and IF combining algorithm guarantee superior performance and errorless transmission. For operators this means a reliable solution that can use less equipment and smaller antennas, providing substantial savings on initial investments and operational expenditures.
